Scooter Race:

Two teams, two scooter, two plates of feathers.

Each person has to scooter down the hall with a plate of feathers on the scooter, around the chair and back without losing feathers.  Don’t stop to pick up feathers, but the team who drop the least feathers – ie scooted the safest and not too fast will “win”

Stretcher Race.

Two teams.  Need to put a bandage around each leg and arm of your patient and put him on the stretcher and two carry him down the hall to the hospital!  Needs team work.  One leader with each team to “help”.

Craft:

  1. Making truffle balls in the kitchen – this could be time consuming so there is a Kims game to add in if we get stuck, they can finishing the colouring in pages or they can go and paint their tulips a second coat.
  2. Making labels – next week they will give mum the truffle balls in a cellophane bag tied up with ribbon and a special label – cut out, colour and write name and maybe “Thanks Mum” or something.  Punch a hole and tie a piece of ribbon on so it can be quickly attached to the bags next week.
  3. Making tulips – at this stage they need to simply paint 3 or 4 egg box cups to be left to dry for next week.  Next week we can assemble our bouquets.  How many they get to paint depends if anyone else brings egg cartons!  Paint inside and out, maybe two coats if we get a chance.  Leave to dry of boards with their name on for next week.

Little accident / Big accident and C.O.W.S

On the mats (if you want) using the flash cards to get them to think about when to call and ambulance.

Tied that in with a role play “game” C.O.W.S.

How would you ring the ambulance if patient Wirrin was found lying on the floor.  Run through C.O.W.S. and how to ring and ambulance 000 and what to say.  Also incorporate their address and phone number.

Kim’s First Aid Game!!

10 first aid items on a tray covered in a cloth – after 30 seconds of looking how many can they remember?
