2021 Fees

   PLEASE NOTE

Scouts NSW is expecting to transition to a new state membership fees billing system this year, in which members will be invoiced directly for their state fees. It is anticipated that the official transition will take place some time after the first membership quarter (April to June 2021).

1st East Ryde Scouts will therefore be invoicing our current members for the first quarter of Scouts NSW’s state membership fees, in addition to our group’s annual fees and section subs.

The following rebates are applicable for children of leaders and committee members from the East Ryde Scout Group Fee:

  • Leaders - $80 rebate per youth member
  • Committee members - $40 rebate per youth member

Adult Leaders

There is no charge for adult members (leaders, committee or registered parent helpers).  The group pays the annual membership on their behalf.

Scout NSW Membership

Scouts NSW membership is a large part of the yearly fees. This covers administration and development of scouting in NSW and in the Sydney North Region, provision of campsites and activity centres, training of leaders and insurance for all members for personal accident and public liability. For new members there is a one-off joining fee of $50.

Group Funds

The 1st East Ryde Scout group fee pays for general running costs of our group, such as electricity, gas, maintenance of hall, equipment, and to cover the leaders’ costs. The amount charged does not fully cover our yearly expenses, so fundraising activities supplement these amounts. All group families are expected to participate in fundraising activities throughout the year and working bees at the hall.

Section Subscriptions

Weekly subscriptions or 'subs' are payable by each youth member in each section. The amount is equivalent to $1 per week and must be paid even if you don't attend every meeting. This money is kept within the section by the section leader and is used to cover the cost of resources, such as craft materials, needed to run the weekly programs. Subs are invoiced at the beginning of the year along with your fees.

Active Kids Rebate

Active Kids is a NSW Government program which helps families get their children active, via 2 x $100 vouchers per child annually. Scouts NSW is an approved provider of the Active Kids rebate.

  1. Go to the Service NSW online portal to apply for your Active Kids voucher
  2. Download a copy of the voucher
  3. Redeem your voucher via the Scouts NSW website. They will inform our treasurer and this will be reflected in your fees invoice*. Please do not send your Active Kids information to our treasurer.

Note: The Active Kids voucher can only be applied to the Scouts NSW portion of your fees. Please refer to the General Information and FAQs section on Scouts NSW’s Active Kids website page for information as to how Scouts NSW applies Active Kids vouchers.
