Bless all joeys everywhere,
Help them remember their promise to share.
Guide them all safely home today
And watch over them while they work and play.

Games/Craft Information:
Coming in activity
Hang a roll of receipt paper on the wall. Unravel it so several yards of paper are pinned to the wall.
Write the following words on the far left side of the receipt paper: "Once upon a time, there were" and then hand each child a pen or pencil. One at a time, the kids must add to the story but they can only contribute three to five words at a time. For example, the story might read: Once upon a time there were ... two dogs named Max and ... Sarah, who lived next door ... to each other. Max and ... Sarah were best friends. ... They grew up chasing squirrels ... and fetching sticks together. ... One day, Max's owner said, ... The activity ends either after each child has had a turn or when a designated amount of time expires. Once the story is complete, read it aloud to the group.
Grand Old Duke of York
Sing the song whilst two Joeys hold a piece of newspaper between them and move around in a circle. When the singing stops you put the newspaper on the ground and stand on it. Repeat and fold the paper and stand on it. Continue until the paper is too small to stand on!
Buzzie Bees
Play music and when it stops find a partner and follow the instructions called-
· link arms
· touch elbows
· back to back
· knee to knee
· cheek to elbow
· think of silly ones!!
Craft
In pairs or teams build the Highest, widest , etc structure using straws, boxes, sticky tapes etc- be sure to share equipment.
Treasure Hunt
Arms linked with a partner you must find a Mintie each and unwrap it using only one hand each.
Popcorn
Everyone mills around in the playing area, you could be moving to music, or whatever, so long as people are mixing around.
The leader then calls out a number and an object. Participants quickly form groups of that number, and then use their bodies to make the object. For example, "2, rocking chair!" and you'll suddenly see pairs forming themselves into rocking chairs.
Once everyone's made their object and has been suitably congratulated, then it's time for more mingling and the next object!
Some guaranteed hits:
- washing machine
- hot air popcorn popper
- toaster
- car
- piano
- waterfall
- old oak tree
- eagle
- elephant
You can always end with "Everyone, roller coaster!"
Cooperative Story
Add to story is haven’t done so and then read to the group.
Tangles
All link arms and then untangle without unlinking arms.
