Games: Tag Two’s -  mill around with eyes closed until you touch someone – that is your partner.  One is the cat one the bug.  Play tag, mustn’t touch anyone else, once you catch your bug he/she lies on the ground waving their legs in the air.   Once all bugs are dead, swap and the cat is the bug the bug the cat.

Game: Balloon relay – 2 teams “bat” the balloon down the length of the hall and around the chair and back to your next team member.  Balloon shouldn’t touch the ground – but well who’s looking!

Split into 3 groups.

  • One group to ice and decorate cupcakes
  • One group to start log sheet for our adventure badge (observatory visit and space adventure night) – name of activity and a picture of the event.  Fill in log sheet name etc.
  • One group to do taste experiments.
    • Close eyes, hold nose and leader pops a jelly bean in – KEEP NOSE HELD – can you tell what flavour?  Release nose were you right?  It is hard to taste without smelling as well.
    • What flavour is the water? – your mind can play tricks on you – is the orange coloured water really orange and the green lime?  We think with our mind first before our taste!
    • Crackers and saliva – chew, chew, chew, chew (don’t swallow) digestion starts in the mouth and as the saliva work on the cracker it turns the carbohydrate into sugar and the cracker tastes sweeter and sweeter the longer you manage to chew it.  It also makes it soggy and easy to swallow!

Game:  Spotlight – everyone gets a chair and sets them up in two lines opposite each other.  Turn lights off.  Crawl out from under a chair and cross the room to the safety of the other row of chairs once in “no man’s land” in the middle be careful you don’t get caught in the spotlight or you are out and can eat your cup cake or chear on the others!!

Games: Chair Soccer if time – form chairs into a circle and kick a ball between the chairs aiming for the King/Queen once you hit his/her chair all move around one chair so we get a new King/Queen.

Spare game:  Flashlight statues – leader goes around as a “night at the museum guard” the room is full of exhibits pick each one with a flashlight and describe the statue for about 15-20 seconds, if he doesn’t move or giggle in that time move on the next one.  If he/she does they join the tour group and try and get the others to laugh – no touching or tickling allowed.  Don’t all need to be still while waiting but make sure you don’t get caught in the spotlight moving around!
