Game:Fill the Bottle

Joeys in relay formation - 4 teams. Each team has a sponge, bucket of coloured water and soft drink  bottle placed at a distance from the team. Joeys take turns to load up the sponge with water, run down to the bottle and squeeze the water into the bottle. First to fill bottle wins HOP HOP HOP.

 

Game: Circle Squirt

Joeys seated in circle. One Joey has an old detergent bottle filled with water. The game is played like drop the hanky. Joeys skip around the circle and drop the bottle behind someone. They have to run around the circle and back to the place of the person they dropped the bottle behind whilst that child tries to squirt them with the water from the bottle.

 

Game: Catch the Balloons

Joeys in circle. Joeys pass the balloon filled with water around the circle. (Spare balloons).

 

Game: Charlie Over the Water

Joeys in circle, holding hands. One Joey is in centre of the circle and is Charlie. Joeys say rhyme

Charlie over the sea

Charlie caught a fish

But he can’t catch ME.

On “ME” the Joeys drop hands and run away as Charlie tries to catch one of them. Repeat.

 

Water Activities:

Joeys rotate through 4 bases.
Foam Cup Bubble Blowers
Joeys punch a hole in the bottom of a foam cup using a skewer. Add a piece of chux to the rim of the cup and hold in place with an elastic band. Joeys dip the chux end into bubble blowing mix which has food colouring added and BLOW through the hole – ensure they don’t suck. Take a print of the foam trail.
 

Water Skittles
 Joeys use a water bomb to knock over skittles. Bubble blowing using commercial bubble blowers.

 

Science With Water
Floating and Sinking. Joeys suggest which objects will sink and float and try out to confirm. Centrifugal force and clear the water experiments.

 

Water Runs
Joeys use various containers to make water runs on the steps at the side of the hall.

 

Singing:

There are some kids who joined a Mob and now they are all JOEYS.
